Alana & Rodrigo

Alana & Rodrigo, proposal on the beach

Alana and Rodrigo chose a stretch of coastline framed by mangroves and low mountains — quiet, a little wild, entirely their own. We arrived while the light was still soft, the tide low enough to walk right out along the sand.

Rodrigo had the ring tucked away for most of the walk, waiting for the right stretch of shade beneath the trees. When he finally knelt, Alana's hands went to her mouth before she even heard the question — that half-second is the one I was there for.

What followed was easy and unscripted: bare feet in the shallows, hands linked, the two of them turning circles in the surf simply because they could. No direction, no second takes — just the morning, exactly as it happened.

It's proof that the best proposal photographs aren't engineered. They're just witnessed, closely and quietly, by someone who knows when to stay out of the way.
