About

I'm Lola — and I fell in love with the moments no one plans for.

Capturing love before it becomes a memory — that's what moves me.

I was born and raised right here in Las Terrenas, on this same stretch of coast I still photograph today. For years I worked wedding after wedding as part of someone else's team, learning the craft from the inside — where to stand, when to wait, what a day like this actually feels like from behind the scenes. Not long ago, I finally set out on my own.

I'm drawn to real documentation over direction. I would rather arrive early and disappear into the background than stage a single moment. Some of my favorite frames are the ones nobody knew I'd taken until they saw the gallery — a father wiping his eyes, a shoe kicked off mid-dance, a proposal caught from three hundred feet away because that was as close as love deserved to be interrupted.

I work in natural light almost exclusively, because I think the softness of a real sunrise says more than any flash ever could. And I edit toward warmth and timelessness on purpose — I want the photographs I hand you today to feel exactly as true in twenty years as they do the week you receive them.

Photography is also something I teach — I'm a photography professor at Altos de Chavón, which keeps me sharp and constantly rethinking why a photograph works, not just how.

Based in the Dominican Republic, I travel often and move fast and light — for weddings, for proposals whispered in secret for weeks, for families who just want an honest record of this exact season of their lives. Getting to actually know you before the day begins is half of what makes the photographs feel true. If any of that sounds like what you're hoping for, I'd love to hear your story.
